Justin Manwell

Justin Manwell is a veteran English teacher and drama director at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. For twenty-three years he has worked to improve student writing and to grow a love of literature and writing. In the last fifteen years, he has also worked to improve faculty and student integration of digital tools and methods, including Differentiated Learning, Flipped Classroom, and the ideas of Creative Instructional Design. He developed an American Literature open-source e-text, works to publish motivational design research, and blends the pragmatic use of technology tools with the sound teaching techniques of Jesuit education. He lives in Livonia, MI.

Continuing Education Credits

2 HOURS At the conclusion of the course, teachers will have the option of applying for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The cost of CEUs is $25.

About the course

This course is designed for teachers who are seeking to augment their in-class curriculum with new technologies, and/or add a blended online component to their present teaching methodologies.  We will explore how to use a wide range of existing and emerging technologies to effectively support student learning and engagement in an online environment.  You will learn how to incorporate useful tech programs and resources into your own curriculum and will complete this course with a fully-crafted lesson that is ready to be implemented.
