Teaches the following AVLI course
What's your favorite part about teaching AVLI courses?
My favorite part about teaching AP Computer Science A is seeing the amazing growth of the the young scholars in my class. Working independently, they master the intricacies of Java and gain a through exposure to the basics of programming. The experience is invaluable and provides a head start to post-secondary study and a rewarding career.
What advice would you give to students considering taking an AVLI course or their parents?
The best advice I can share is to realistically consider your time commitments and your ability to stay current with the demands of an online course. The payoff of a successful effort means you have a proven capacity for virtual learning which is environment most of us will encounter again in the future.
What PD opportunities have you participated in and what was your experience?
I have attended three PD workshops: Accompaniment in the Age of AI, Mission True: The Power of Purpose in Negotiating, Artificial Intelligence and Ignition Teaching in Continuous Learning Environment. These workshops allowed me to explore innovations in the constantly changing landscape of educational technology and to integrate some of the best ideas into my virtual and in-person learning environments.
