What's your favorite part about teaching AVLI courses?

It's just fun! I enjoy learning new ways to connect with students who are excited to learn. AVLI is a flexible way for students to gain their graduation credits. I like that it works for students who might have a physical condition that prevents them from being present in a a traditional classroom and at the same time provide a student who wants to learn but can't find a class in their schedule (and it offers a way for them to participate in their activities but have the academics be flexible).

What advice would you give to students considering taking an AVLI course or their parents?

Communicate, Communicate, Communicate! As teachers we will offer many ways for you to be heard...just make sure if you need something, something isn't working, or you just have a basic question to let us know what's going on!

What PD opportunities have you participated in and what was your experience?

I went to the AVLI Summer Retreat for the past two years. I found a good way to learn the AVLI ropes, connect with great colleagues, and become a better online teacher.
