Course Description
AP African American Studies is an interdisciplinary course that examines the diversity of African American experiences through direct encounters with rich and varied sources. Students explore key topics that extend from early African kingdoms to the ongoing challenges and achievements of the contemporary moment.
Coursework is rigorous and will prepare students to sit for the AP College Board exam in the spring. The course requires weekly engagement but is primarily asynchronous, allowing students to work around their school schedule. A required synchronous meeting takes place one evening per week. Meeting times will be determined at the start of each term.
