What's your favorite part about teaching AVLI courses?

I really enjoy getting to know students from all around the country and outside of the US. The students whom I have taught are brilliant, creative and hard working. You have to be that responsible since the courses require students to do a different type of work. It's a real honor to get to work with so many students who are on their way to doing some great things.

What advice would you give to students considering taking an AVLI course or their parents?

AVLI is such a great opportunity for students to take on a flexible schedule. They can still do some great work in their regular schools. AVLI is just an extension of that work. And, the great news is that a little effort helps students to learn a new set of skills for online learning. They can take that anywhere they go in the future.

What PD opportunities have you participated in and what was your experience?

I took some courses on using online platforms like Flipgrid and voice thread. These professional development opportunities helped me to enhance my teaching. And, the schedule was flexible. Plus, AVLI teachers are always very caring and flexible because they know that is needed for online learning.
